Competition Rules

Support your friends, like your favorites, and help influence which projects receive support.

Your Voice Counts!

All 35 projects eligible to receive support are posted for viewing and voting. Each project includes a short video preview & brief description providing an outline of the project’s origins, goals, current status, and details about its creators.

After viewing a project and learning more about it, you can show your support by clicking on the Like button located in the upper right-hand corner above the video viewing window. You can also share the video through email and social media accounts to encourage others to view and like your favorite videos.

There is no limit to the number of videos you can view and like, but you can only like a video once.

Jurors and community volunteers representing Pittsburgh’s film and video community will choose up to four projects to receive $10,000 grants from The Sprout Fund. Decisionmakers will consider the quantity of Likes each video earns as a measure of community support. Decisionmakers will consider community support as one of several factors in deciding which projects receive grants. Plus, popular videos that don’t receive grants will be eligible for small honoraria.

The voting period begins at 12:00pm on Monday, November 25th and ends at 10:00pm on Monday, December 2nd.

Questions about voting and decisionmaking can be directed to The Sprout Fund at or by calling 412-325-0646.
