CanTEEN is a career exploration program for tween and teen girls from the Carnegie Science Center’s Chevron Center for STEM Education and Career Development.
CanTEEN lets tween and teen girls explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers through online games, interactive challenges, and multimedia tours.
An innovative toolkit, CanTEEN includes CDs for each STEM discipline, featuring profiles of female role models, activities, and information on STEM classes and scholarships as well as classroom tools like a periodic table, calculator/ruler, and journal.
The kit has physical and electronic resources as well as “action projects.” Eight animated female characters lead girls through an exploration of science careers and opportunities.
Through interactive games, you can explore each character’s detailed profile, everything from interests (one girl likes soccer, another architecture, another is consumed with lowering her carbon footprint) to their heroines, favorite innovative websites, and learning styles.
