Sprout projects combine at Pittsburgh Pride
This summer, two Sprout-funded projects came together to make a video for Pittsburgh Pride–check it out!
What happens when two Sprout-funded projects collide? Awesome video art, apparently!
At this year’s Pittsburgh Pride celebration, two Sprout grantees combined forces to produce this short film, centered on Pittsburgh Pride: The Zine 2014.
The zine, an interactive and collaborative production that invited people to express themselves through drawings and words, is a project of Seed Award program Training Wheels, a bike-based lending library and book seller created by The Big Idea Book Store. The video itself was produced by First Take, a Spark Award project that holds mobile media making classes and workshops for kids in a variety of out-of-school learning sites.
The finished zine will be available through Training Wheels, of course, and the video production provides a great look at the work that First Take does with kids around the city. And together they answer a question posed in the video: What makes us proud? Seeing two of our projects come together and do great work for a great cause!
