Knitting the Bridge in two minutes!
Annette Sandberg’s two-minute time lapse of the Knit the Bridge installation shows of great public art in our beautiful city.
The Andy Warhol Bridge may only be knit in its cozy sweater of handmade blankets until September 8th, but whether you’ve seen it in person, helped to put it up, or just heard about it on the news, you can watch the action as it happened when the massive community art piece was installed a few weeks ago. This moving time lapse video courtesy of Annette Sandberg distills the two-day installation into two-minutes set to music, ending in a gorgeous night-time shot of the finished bridge. Well worth a watch to see Pittsburgh’s communities coming together to make the city a little more cozy.
Knit the Bridge won a Sprout Seed Award in December 2012 to celebrate this year’s Fiberart International convention in Pittsburgh.
