As the weather gets more pleasant and the air more brisk, thoughts turn to piles of leaves, to hot cocoa, and of course, to the biggest DIY independent crafting fair in Western Pennsylvania. Yes, Handmade Arcade is just a few months away on Saturday, December 7th, and if you’d like to be a part of the fun as a vendor this year, you’ll be excited to know that the applications are now open! The event, initially funded in part from a Sprout Seed Award, brings hundreds of vendors and thousands of attendees in from all over the country to show of some truly amazing works of crafting and art, and this year celebrates a “Decade of DIY” as it goes into its tenth year.

Applications for vending spots (crafts only; there are unfortunately no food vendors in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center downtown) are open until Sunday, September 15th and applicants will be notified of the organization’s choices by Sunday, October 6th. The event is a great way not only to sell your own crafts but also to meet thousands of other people interested in what you do, building a community of crafters and DIY lovers who keep the art alive year after year. Apply for a space and be a part of what’s sure to be the biggest and best Handmade Arcade ever–at least until next year’s!
